Adult Computer Classes
The Schaumburg Township District Library offers a variety of computer classes for users of IBM compatible computers. The classes are overviews meant to introduce patrons to the various functions of programs. Each class lasts approximately two hours and is open to all patrons high school age and above. The classes meet in the Adult Computer Lab within the Reference Department. All computer classes start promptly. If a patron arrives late to class, time does not allow the instructor to repeat the missed portion of the lesson. The classes held in the Computer Lab have a maximum of one student per workstation.

Library users must register in person at the Computer Assistance Desk or over the phone with a credit card. Each class requires a non-refundable and non-transferable fee due at the time of registration. The fee for residents is $12 while the fee for non-residents is $17. Senior citizens 50 years of age and older pay $9. The classes usually fill up at least one month in advance; however, should a class not be at least half-filled on the day before the class, it may be canceled and all registered students rescheduled at their earliest convenience. These are the only circumstances under which registered students may reschedule for a different class. For additional information, call the library’s Computer Assistance Desk at (847) 923-3352. Classes use IBM-compatible machines only.
